Where does the data come from?
Buildings and dwellings come from the Federal Register of Buildings and Dwellings (RBD) of the Federal Statistical Office (public level A). Building permit applications come from the official gazettes of the cantons that publish via amtsblattportal.ch. Forced auctions come from the Swiss Official Gazette of Commerce (SOGC). The map is based on swisstopo.
How up to date is the data?
The data is synced daily. What matters, though, is how quickly municipalities and authorities enter their reports in the registers. There can be weeks or even months between a decision and the register entry.
What do projected, authorised and under construction mean?
These are the RBD statuses: “projected” means a project has been registered; “authorised” means the building permit has been granted; “under construction” means construction work has started. On the “New” page, you can see when a building moves from one status to the next.
Will every planned building actually be built?
No. Projected and authorised projects can be delayed, changed or abandoned. An entry indicates a project; it’s no guarantee that the dwellings will come onto the market.
How precisely are forced auctions located?
It depends on the publication. Where the property (plot) can be identified, it is located on the map. Where only an address is given, the point sits on that address. If neither is given, only the municipality is located; the point then just shows the approximate position within the municipality.
Are the estimated values for auctions market values?
No. We show the official estimate from the publication. It’s a reference point for the procedure but doesn’t replace a valuation report and says nothing about the eventual hammer price.
Why are there no building permit applications for Lucerne and Aargau?
We source building permit applications from amtsblattportal.ch, which currently covers the cantons of ZH, BE, ZG, BS, BL, AR and TI. Lucerne and Aargau don’t publish their building permit applications on this portal, so they are missing in this category. Buildings from the RBD and forced auctions are available for all of Switzerland.
How do the email alerts work?
On the map, you set a centre point, a radius and filters, and enter your email address. The alert only becomes active once you confirm it via a link (double opt-in), and you can end it with the unsubscribe link in every email. The confirmation email arrives immediately; we are rolling out regular alerts step by step.
How much does the service cost?
The map with new-build projects, building permit applications and auctions is free. Pro costs CHF 14 per month or CHF 120 as an annual pass, Business CHF 59 per month or CHF 490 as an annual pass. The monthly subscription can be cancelled at any time; the annual pass ends automatically. Details under Pricing.
Are the names of debtors or owners shown?
No. From SOGC publications, we only take property data such as location, plot, estimate and date. Debtor data is deliberately neither stored nor displayed. The RBD contains no data on owners or occupants.
What data do you store about me?
None if you just browse: there’s no tracking, only server logs, which are deleted after 7 days. With an account, we store your email address and your plan, and for alerts also the centre point, radius and filters. When you’re signed in, we set a session cookie. Details are in the privacy policy.
An entry is wrong or missing. What should I do?
The data comes from official registers and publications. Errors in the register must be corrected by the responsible municipality. If we made a mistake while processing the data, email us at the contact address with the EGID or address.
